After receiving the new book on the history of the USSR, written on the basis of Stalin’s, Kirov’s and Zhdanov’s instructions, Soviet schoolchildren complained about the lack of historical novels in our country. They were delighted with the publication of La Légende d’Ulenspiegel, Flaubert’s Salammbô, Giovagnoli’s Spartacus , Hugo’s Quatre-vingt-treize and the novels of Scott, Dumas and Feuchtwanger. They would also like to read more historical novels dedicated to the history of our country.
