Article by B. Griftsov on the Russian translations of R. Rolland: he starts with his personal recollections of the first reading of Jean Cristophe (1912) in French in the pre-revolutionary years, and then says how much of an impact this work had in the young USSR as early as 1918, how massive translations of Rolland’s works had begun, and that the Vremya publishing house is now preparing the complete works. Many of his articles and materials are printed in newspapers and magazines. The Soviet educated and reading masses enthusiastically welcomed the work of this great writer.
