The Pushkin centenary played a key role in identifying the pathways between the cultural peaks of past centuries and those of socialist culture. Realism, simplicity, the spirit of the people (narodnost), which in our days is inseparable from socialism, popular art as the basis of poetry, a deep ideological content, all the richness of the feelings and thoughts of the socialist man, an ardent hatred of the world of exploitation, loyalty to the work of socialism, a very close connection to the people led by the Lenin-Stalin party: this is the only way of true socialist poetry.
