The former leaders of Goslitizdat allowed the enemies of the people to work in the classics sector, believing that they could do no harm there. Yet they did damage there too, writing commentaries and prefaces that altered the political traits of the authors and sometimes even their texts. Now we have to deal with the legacy of our enemies, left behind in ready-to-publish manuscripts and outdated contracts. The publishing house must change the way it works with authors and editors.
