We do not need any method other than socialist realism, such as the romanticism proposed by Lunacharsky, because we do not need to embellish and idealise our reality by inventing an ideal truth; our truth exists, it is real, it is within us and around us. As Lunacharsky rightly says, our realism, unlike bourgeois realism, is dynamic. We do not have to invent fake symbols and characters, as our reality is already heroic in itself. In theatre we need the drama of characters rather than situations. Dramaturgy in the theatre must play a major role.
