Concise description of the directive:
Young writers cannot learn from writers who master the Russian literary language poorly. To justify the misuse of literary language is to justify the lowering of quality in our literature. The role of the writer in our country must be enormous; therefore, it is necessary to work with the word honestly and severely. Lexical illiteracy is always linked to ideological ignorance. We must remember Lenin’s ideas on language; we must fight ruthlessly to cleanse literature of lexical filth, fight for the simplicity and clarity of our language, for an honest technique without which it is impossible to have a concrete ideology.
